What do Arkland's tree services include?
Arkland Landscape Construction removes and prunes trees, grinds stumps, clears brush and land, and takes down storm-damaged trees and branches for homes and commercial properties across the San Francisco Bay Area. We also plant new trees and help you choose ones that suit your yard.
A tree can be the best thing in a yard or the biggest worry. Pruning and thinning keep a tree healthy and lower the risk of an unexpected fall. When a tree has to go, we take it down, grind the stump and clean up.
Nothing goes to waste. We chip the branches, and you can keep the wood chips as mulch and the wood cut to fireplace size.

How does a tree service job work?
Step 1: Consultation
Call or send a request. We look at the tree, talk through what you want, and note access and anything nearby.
Step 2: Estimate
We explain your options, whether that's pruning, removal or replacing the tree, and walk you through your estimate.
Step 3: Tree work
Our crew prunes or removes the tree, grinds the stump if needed, and chips the branches.
Step 4: Clean-up & walkthrough
We clean up the site, leave the wood chips or firewood if you want them, and walk it with you.

Yes, Arkland removes trees and grinds the stumps for homes and commercial properties across the San Francisco Bay Area. We also tell you honestly when and how a tree should come out, and when pruning might be enough. After the removal we chip the branches and clean up, so the space is ready for whatever comes next, including a new tree.
Why should I prune or thin a tree?
Pruning and thinning keep a tree healthy and lower the risk of an unexpected fall. Taking out dead, weak or crowded branches lets light and air through the canopy and takes weight off the limbs. Arkland prunes and thins trees for homes and commercial properties, and we'll look at your trees and tell you what they need before any work starts.
Can you remove a tree or branch that fell in a storm?
Yes, Arkland handles emergency tree and branch removal, including trees and limbs brought down by a storm. We cut up what fell, haul it away or chip it, and clear the area so it's safe to use. If a tree or branch has come down on your property, call us at (650) 302-4483 and tell us what happened and where it is.
Can I keep the wood and the wood chips?
Yes, you can keep both. When Arkland removes or prunes a tree, we can cut the wood to fireplace size for you and chip the branches into mulch you can spread on your garden beds. If you don't want them, we take the wood and chips away. Just tell us what you'd like when we give you your estimate.
Which trees grow well in the Bay Area?
Oaks and redwoods are classic Bay Area trees, and fruit trees like lemons and avocados do well in many yards here. The right tree depends on your space, sun, soil and what you want from it, like shade, privacy or fruit. Arkland plants new trees and replaces old ones, and we'll help you pick a tree that fits your yard.
Is Arkland licensed for tree work?
Yes, Arkland is licensed for tree service in California. Our contractor's license, #1017855, includes the CSLB's C-61/D49 Tree Service classification, along with C-27 Landscaping. We're also bonded and insured, including workers' compensation coverage. You can look up the license yourself on the Contractors State License Board website at cslb.ca.gov.
