Our story
How Joel Lopez built a Bay Area landscape company
Arkland Landscape Construction is a Bay Area landscape company founded and led by owner Joel Lopez. Joel started out helping his father, began his own business with plants, flowers, lawns and trees, and grew it from two people into a full team of experienced crews. Today Arkland builds landscape enhancements, renovations and new construction, and offers tree services, for homes and commercial properties across the San Francisco Bay Area.
Joel Lopez got his start in landscaping by helping his father. Those years taught him what would become his business principles: see the job from the client's side, do professional work, and be honest and straightforward.
After some years, Joel went out on his own. He began with plants, flowers, lawns and trees. Over time, hardscape and patio design became his passion: wood, stone and tile turned into structures people use every day.
The company grew from a two-person operation into a full team of experienced crews, with three divisions serving homes and commercial properties across the Bay Area.
Joel still runs the company on the belief he started with: the outside of your home matters as much as the inside, and it adds real value to it.

Our values
What we hold ourselves to
We don't skip details.
Not in the design, not in the build, and not in how we treat you. Small things are what make a landscape last.
We keep you informed.
You'll know your options before we start, and you'll get updates while the work is underway.
We're honest and straightforward.
Clear answers about scope, cost and what your site really needs, even when it's not what you hoped to hear.
We stand behind our work.
We don't just build a landscape and leave. We stand by what we build and help take care of it over time.
